Brief of the Main Committee
 
Pursuant to Section 205C(4) read with Rule 7 of the IEPF Rules 2001, the Central Government has re-constituted a Committee vide S.O. No. 368 (E) dated 21-03-2006. Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs is Chairman of the Committee. The members are representatives of Reserve Bank of India, Securities and Exchange Board of India, and experts from the field of investors’ education and protection. The non-official members of the Committee hold office for a period of two years. The official members hold office for a period of two years or until they occupy their position, whichever is earlier. The term of the present Committee is two years with effect from 21st March, 2006.
